A Government administrative professional by day, Brett Luna spends his spare time enjoying fly fishing, fly tying, home improvement projects, and even a little photography. An Alaskan for more than 15 years now, he lives in Peters Creek with his wife, dog, two cats, a grumpy squirrel that lives in the wood shed, and the occasional bear that drops by for a visit.
After seven long years with a competing photo site hosting service, it looks like I'm going to make the jump to Zenfolio. I'm still getting used to how things work here and of course there's much left to do with my site but so far, I have to say I'm satisfied with my new host. I'm still in my trial period but I anticipate firming things up within a few days.
Along with this change will come a change in domain. I've decided to retire PetersCreekPhoto.com as my primary domain name, in favor of BrettLuna.com. PetersCreekPhoto won't go away immediately and once I've completed the site changeover, it will redirect you here...but for those few of you who have saved me to your favorites (thanks!) please update your bookmarks.
As for what you'll find on this blog, well, that's going to vary quite a bit. Since I have a day job that isn't professional photography, you'll likely see some of the goings-on of my personal life in pictures, along with some weekend shooting, and the occasional paid assignment. I hope you'll find at least some of it interesting and/or pleasant to look at for a few minutes out of your day.
Now about this post's photo. I heard on the radio yesterday that some organization or other has declared October as Squirrel Awareness Month. So, meet "Squirrelly", a red squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) and a native of Alaska. He...at least we think he's a he...staked out our property in Peters Creek as his territory and built quite the nest in our woodshed. He chatters up a storm and robs us blind of peanuts.
